Insurance for Micro-Schools
Program Definition
For purposes of this program, we define a micro-school as a "one-room schoolhouse" school or "learning pod" that consists of 5-40 students/learners and is designed to provide an in-person classroom curriculum in a small group setting for member families. Typically, a micro-school operates 4-6 hours per day, 3-5 days per week, and teachers are not required to be licensed.
To be eligible for this program, microschools are required to operate out of a rented space (i.e., church, community center, etc.). Additionally, for eligibility, these organizations should be geared towards school-aged children (5+) in grades (Kindergarten-12th grade).
Coverage is intended for supervised group-sponsored events and activities. This program is not intended for
private or public (including charter) schools, daycares, tutoring centers, professional services, or coalitions.
How to Purchase
New Micro-School Groups
If you are new to our application process you will need to create an account in our online portal. Once you have created your account, follow the prompts to select your group type and the types of coverage you need. When you are finished, simply pay online and print your certificate of insurance.

New Leaders + Existing Insured Micro-School Groups
If you are the new leader of a homeschool group currently insured with us, welcome! If you have not notified us of your change in leadership, please email us at homeschoolsupport@ncginsurance.com so we may update our records.
Once updated, a custom user ID will be created for you and emailed from our portal 30-60 days prior to your policy renewal. The email will come from homeschoolsupport@ncginsurance.com, so please add to your address book to ensure it doesn’t go to your junk/SPAM folder.
SUPPORT GROUP ELIGIBILITY:
All HSLDA affiliated Discount Groups, including their registered Home School Students, Non-Employee Teachers and Volunteers are eligible for coverage during supervised, Group sponsored Home School events and activities, including travel to and from all events and activities (other than in-home instruction and organized athletics).
COVERAGE:
Participation of 100% of all Eligible Persons is required for each separately enrolling group. The individual coverage for each group will begin on the date of acceptance or on the date requested, whichever is later, subject to payment of the required premium. Coverage is for a full 12 months.
This program has been designed to cover all registered participants attending Group sponsored events, such as conferences, seminars and leadership retreats. This coverage is included in your Support Group Accident Medical and General Liability policies. If your Group has not enrolled in the Accident Medical and General Liability program for Support Groups, then your Group will need to purchase this coverage in order to have insurance for your Group’s Events.
SUPPORT GROUP EVENT ELIGIBILITY:
Any Home School Groups who desire coverage for a specified Group sponsored event, such as a conference, seminar, leadership retreat, and other such events are eligible to obtain coverage for all registered participants who attend their event(s).

NON-DISCOUNT MEMBER SUPPORT GROUP ELIGIBILITY:
All Non-Discount Member Support Groups, including their registered Home School Students, Non-Employee Teachers, and Volunteers are eligible for coverage during supervised, Group-sponsored Home School events and activities, including travel to and from all events and activities (other than in-home instruction and organized athletics).

ADDITIONAL INSURED CERTIFICATES
To submit Additional Insured Certificate requests, click the button below to email us. The first two (2) requested Additional Insured Certificates are provided at no additional cost. Thereafter, Additional Insured Certificates will cost $35.00.
